Family Child Care

The Family Child Care (FCC) center is another option for parents needing child care. All FCC providers register and become certified through the FCC management office on base. FCC providers watch your children from their home-based child care business. Providers accept all ages of children and can accommodate most work schedules including weekends.

Note: Anyone providing more than a total of 10 hours of care per week on a regular basis in a home on base MUST be licensed through the FCC program.

The Family Child Care program is available for any individual interested in offering child care in their home. Home care providers play a key role in the Child and Youth programs. Providers at Cannon AFB are committed to taking care of military families. Parents are benefited by this program by giving them the assurance that their children are well taken care of in a home-like atmosphere. A Family Child Care (FCC) provider must be an adult who is at least 18 years of age or older providing care for a children in their home. The care is provided on a regular basis, usually 3 to 10 hours a day. The Family Child Care providers at Cannon AFB believe that every child is unique and special. Providers and children respect each other’s individual differences.

Any new providers wanting to start a home-care program must complete an application packet and return to Family Child Care coordinator at Chavez CDC, Building 7019. The Family Child Care program goal is to continue to provide a quality program to meet the needs of the children and their families.
